It’s no small accomplishment to go from homeless to a home owner. We are so excited for Jeannetta who was able to complete this journey.
Jeannetta and her children had been working with The Road Home since December 2018. They were able transition into stable housing through our Rapid Rehousing program. From there, Jeannetta’s family moved into The Breese, a partnership program with Stone House Development that provides larger families with housing.
While living in The Breese, Jeannetta began working with case managers at The Road Home to reach her dream of home ownership. Other community partners, including Tiffany Malone now at Alvarado Real Estate Group, Sara Whitley at Old National Bank and the City of Madison’s Housing Authority, also helped. In July this past summer, Jeannetta and her children were able to move into their first home.
“I am so excited about the progress my family has made,” Jeannetta said. “The accomplishment of owning a home is being able to teach my kids about being successful in life. I am so excited to be able to walk through a home that is mine. It’s given me the confidence that I can get through anything in life because this is something that I never thought or believed would ever happen to me.”
