The Road Home has partnered with Stone House Development, Inc., a local real estate and consulting firm, to develop new affordable housing that opens this month.
It’s been an exciting and busy few months at The Road Home – and we are happy to share some of our most exciting news with you. The Road Home has partnered with Stone House Development, Inc., a local real estate and consulting firm, to develop new affordable housing that opens this month. This new housing, called The Breese Apartments, includes nine affordable three bedroom townhomes for families served by The Road Home. This provides space for larger families – our most difficult to place families. The location of these units is ideal: They are located on multiple bus lines, across the street from Lapham Elementary School, a block from Festival Foods, in a mixed-income neighborhood and in a prime spot for family activities. The units include covered parking, a fitness room and free community space that can be reserved for a birthday party or other gathering. The Road Home will continue to provide case management to the families, in space donated by Stone House, to help these families maintain housing and meet their goals.
“We are so excited to welcome our first families to The Breese Apartments this January,” said Helen Bradbury, President of Stone House Development, Inc. “They will be moving into a welcoming neighborhood and a new townhome that is attractive and comfortable. We are all working to ensure that “our” families are proud of where they live and will contribute to their new neighborhood in meaningful ways.”

Looking for Ways to Help Families Moving into The Breese Apartments?
Most of our families move into housing with next to nothing. If you’re looking to make a difference for them as they get a new start, consider donating these items from The Breese Wish List:
*Bathroom Items: towel sets, shower curtains, basic supplies such as soap, shampoo and toilet paper
*Kitchen Items: dishes sets (plates, cups, bowls, silverware), sets of pots and pans, basic supplies like dish towles, paper towels, dish detergent and cleaning supplies
*Bedrooms Items: Our biggest need is new mattresses. Other options are pillows, sheets and blankets. Please contact us before purchasing bedroom items so we can provide you more specifics.
