Through the years, Messiah Lutheran has continued to find many ways to help families who have experienced homelessness in our community.
Messiah Lutheran began their partnership with The Road Home as a “Buddy Congregation,” helping with our shelter four times a year by serving meals and providing congregation members to stay overnight. When shelter phased out, Messiah Lutheran continued to support the work of The Road Home in many ways. The church gathers Wish List items which they deliver once a month and has provided school backpacks for children in our housing programs. Recently, members sewed masks for families. For a number of years, congregation members have been matched with families for our Sharing the Holidays program, shopping for gifts for both children and adults. Congregation Ambassador, Diane Iverson, has served as a table host for our Breakfast and the church has provided financial support throughout the years.
For Messiah Lutheran, being involved with The Road Home is part of their mission to help meet the needs of charitable organizations within our community. Their continued support has helped families with children in our community transition from homelessness to housing. Thank you, Messiah Lutheran!
